Prior to arriving it was extremely difficult to communicate with anyone. Phone calls went to voicemail and emails took days to get a reply. The kitchen was dirty, fridge had not been cleaned out for some time, stove was dirty, dishwasher was scaly and there was food and various other items stacked on the floor of the pantry that were left there from previous parties.
Don't waste your money.
Worst of all the staff did not explain anything about expected charges for any activities. There was nobody available at checkout time to see a final bill so the owners just took the liberty of charging our debit card a LOT. After trying to reach someone at Texas Ranch Life for days we finally got to speak with the owner and expressed our frustration. This phone call was followed up by an email with what we felt was fair for our bill. No reply after 4 days!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the lake house for our anniversary for the weekend and it was FABULOUS!! John, Taunia and Craig were so great and friendly and the ranch is so beautiful!! We went horseback riding, skeet shooting and fishing. On the horseback ride it was so nice so see the entire farm and we could see the Buffalo from afar but the real treat was later that evening the herd of Buffalo passed by the lake house so we got to see them up close!! Such a great trip. The only negative in would say is that I wish the lake was a little better maintained, there were quite a few lily pads which makes fishing pretty impossible unless you have a boat to get to the middle of the lake. As far as the skeet shooting John is a great instructor! It was our first time and we both were able to get the bird! As far as the house its very quaint and is so peaceful! It comes with everything you will need and Taunia also provided breakfast for two days as well as some of their own longhorn meat. Overall it was worth every penny! So romantic if you enjoy the rustic outdoors.
